The NIHR Chairperson – Maria Khoury said that such MOU’s contribute to spreading the human rights culture among academic circles. Also stressing that consolidating and promoting the human rights culture are among the goals of the NIHR, in accordance with its law.

We welcome the cooperation of the NIHR and look forward to this partnership. The BUB Human Rights module is a compulsory aspect of all the undergraduate UK degree courses currently available at the British University. We will continue to contribute to the human rights field through this cooperation and promote the human rights culture in Bahrain.

Our MOU will strengthen the joint coordination to consolidate human rights. This will be through legal consultations, exchange visits, publications, specialised studies and joint workshops. In addition, under the MOU, both parties aim to hold legal and human rights training sessions. These sessions will be in accordance with the programmes and projects of the national plan, to consolidate and promote human rights in a way that will serve Bahrain’s top national interests.
