The British University of Bahrain celebrated the success of its Virtual Internship Programme. The ceremony was attended by the BUB President – Professor Keith Sharp, honoured business sponsors and BUB staff and students. Offering internships during a pandemic was a pioneering effort but BUB was determined to provide students with virtual opportunities, to gain professional and personal skills in the work place. The Bahrain Trust Foundation and the company BENEFIT rose to this challenge and generously provided real internship projects that added real value to their businesses.
Ms Sylvia Marcus, from the Bahrain Trust Foundation, thanked students for all the effort they had put into achieving the website and making translation changes, to enhance its usability.
From BENEFIT, Ms Hanan Hasan described how interns designed, distributed and analysed a marketing research project that contributed to their product development.
Ms Lena Al Belooshi – BUB Human Rights lecturer, also praised the skills of her intern who successfully designed and tested a unique mobile App that will actually be used in Bahrain.
