The British University of Bahrain is very excited to continue our Summer Internship Programme with our first BUB Virtual Internship 2020 project. Students from all BUB Colleges are welcome to apply to take part in a Virtual Summer Internship, supervised and mentored by various organisations in Bahrain.
Ahmed Mubarack, a Year 2 College of ICT student, is the first BUB student to engage in this Virtual project. During the 6-8 week programme, Ahmed will be designing an App, focused on providing help for expatriate workers.
This idea originally started as a human rights essay, during his recent studies at BUB. His idea is now coming to fruition, in the design and creation of this unique App.
Ahmeds progress is monitored by two carefully selected BUB staff members. These members of our staff were hand-picked for this project, due to their vast experience. The development of the App and the success of this year’s Virtual Internship programme, is supported by their expert guidance.
Dr Ali Al-Soufi | Dean | BUB College of ICT
Ms Leena Al-Belooshi | Human Rights Lecturer | BUB College of Business
With the guidance from his mentors and continued online support, Ahmed is progressing extremely well. Any other BUB Students, interested in a Virtual Internship, can still join. Just ask any BUB staff member, for further information and how to apply.
Commenting on our 2020 Virtual Internship Programme, Alison Reynolds – Internship Supervisor (BUB College of Business) said:
“COVID-19 prevents us from offering traditional on-site teaching and/or internships but that does not stop us. Our students are continuing to develop their professional skills and competencies in the current online work environment. This has now been utilised to facilitate Internships and we continue to find alternate solutions to current teaching issues. We are committed to ensuring that BUB students are not disadvantaged by the current global restrictions.”

We are here to help and we understand that choosing a Bachelors degree is already a big decision. This is now more difficult as you cannot visit us personally. For this reason BUB have embraced modern technology, in order to continue to support our current students. This technology is also being used to assist new students, with their important decisions.
